What began in 1960 as a two vessel, two terminal operation has grown into one of the largest, most sophisticated ferry transportation systems in the world. With up to 47 ports of call, our fleet of 35 ships serves a diverse range of communities along the coast of British Columbia, Canada.

Frequent passenger and vehicle service is available to Vancouver, Victoria, Nanaimo and Vancouver Island, the Gulf Islands, the Sunshine Coast, the Inside Passage, Discovery Coast Passage and Queen Charlotte Islands. Prince Rupert is the northern terminus for the Inside Passage route from Port Hardy on Vancouver Island while Bella Coola is the northern terminus on BC Ferries Discovery Coast route. Sailing the Inside Passage offers some of the most amazing views and service is available year round. One can also sail from Prince Rupert to Skidegate on the Queen Charlotte Islands with BC Ferries.

Ships travelling on several routes including the major routes between Vancouver and Vancouver Island and Northern routes offer on-board services such as buffet and/or full cafeteria service, gift shops, ship-to-shore telephones, and elevators while other ships offer more refined on-board amenities.
